Congratulations to Wikipedia, and everyone who donates to them! (Reported on Yahoo!)
Wikipedia.org is one of the most interesting web projects available online. In case you haven't used it before, its a user-centred encyclopedia. Are you an expert in a particular subject matter? Log on to Wikipedia, and enter your knowledge. The web page features an immense amount of knowledge, filtered and created by the users just like you and me. It's a fascinating website, and once you start browsing there, you can be lost in a jungle of information. Easy-to-use and easy to access, Wikipedia is an incredibly accessible way of answering all your questions.
It's also a non-profit organization, which relies on donations to continue running. And for 2008, Wiki set their donation goal to $6 million USD! They've really got some costs there! But through donations of people around the world, they've hit their goal. If you click on the title to this post, you'll see the Thank You message from one of the founders Jimmy Wales, and there are also links to show how Wiki spend this money.
If you haven't used Wiki before, allow me to encourage you to one of the best regulated, non-partisan websites out there. If you've used it before and haven't donated, well, now's your chance. You may also want to see this page about tax deductability! :)
