Browsing Yahoo! News, I found an article which reminded me of the exciting oppurtunities available at the two local libraries here. Kitchener Public Library and Waterloo Public Library both offer an online service to download audio books. And unlike some online stores which offer this kind of service, it's free if you're a member of the library. If you haven't set up your library account to use the online collection, I believe it's as simple as asking a librarian next time you're there. After that, you can login in from home, ignore all your late fees, and start downloading a wide range of audio books. The more the service is used, the more the libraries will be able to put into purchasing more audio books. What is more, if Yahoo! News is reporting that this feature is available, then it must *surely* be available outside of Kitchener-Waterloo. If you haven't tried downloading books from your library, give it a try and let me know how it works out!
